Bird & Nature Outing - UW's Lakeshore Nature Preserve
Walk with the Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve ~ Take an informal and interesting walk with Friends of Lakeshore Nature Preserve board members to discover the UW Lakeshore Nature Preserve. We will explore the historic woodlands, native mounds on Picnic Point, the restored Biocore Prairie research area and scenic views of the Capitol along the Lake Mendota shoreline. This is also a favorite spot for seeing Barred and Great Horned Owls, migrating warblers, and waterfowl on University Bay.
Join a naturalist for a family-friendly nature walk starting at Picnic Point to discover the UW Lakeshore Nature Preserve including historic woodlands, native mounds, restored Biocore Prairie and beautiful Lake Mendota shoreline. Walks at UW Lakeshore Nature Preserve the 4th Sunday every month are co-sponsored by Madison Bird City FUN partners Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve and Madison Audubon Society.
