Learn to Play Hockey with Madison Capitols

Due to the quality and conditions of the ice, this event is rescheduled again. Join Madison Capitols Hockey and Learn to Play Hockey at Tenney Park! This free class is free to attend and advanced registration is required. Madison Capitols team members will demonstrate skating techniques and hockey maneuvers and will lead drills in skating, shooting, passing, and stickwork. The class is open to all ages and is designed for kids aged 5-15.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED: Hockey sticks, pucks, skating aids, and ice skates. Bring your own skates or borrow skates for the class at no charge. Staff will be available to borrow skates from the shelter starting at 9am.
WARM-UP: Allow time to put on your skates and get warmed up on the hockey rink. Once you're laced up, head out to the ice.
CLASS START TIME: The class will begin promptly at 9:30am. Be ready, skates on, and on the ice!
COST: Free! Thanks to the Madison Parks Foundation all classes in the Learning Series are free to attend.

The Learning Series features educational events, hands-on workshops, and informational stories about projects, people, activities, and initiatives. Attend a workshop, read about a new initiative, take a guided park tour and more. The Learning Series is free to all, thanks to the Madison Parks Foundation.
