Food Assistance 

SSM Health Meals on Wheels provides meal delivery for senior for a fee.

NewBridge Madison provides meals and other services to seniors for a donation.

MMSD is providing free meals for children once per day at several sites throughout Madison.

YMCA of Dane County is providing free food to individuals of all ages at seven sites throughout the city.

Goodman Community Center is providing a drive-through/walk-up food pantry at the Ironworks location and delivered dinners for children in the Darbo/Worthington and Brentwood neighborhoods.

Second Harvest Foodbank mobile food pantry is providing pre-boxed food items for pick-up at a variety of locations in Madison (schedule here). A texting service has been setup to provide updates regarding when special food distribution opportunities are coming up. To receive a text message the next time we have a special food distribution in your area, find your county below, and text the corresponding keyword to 555888:

Financial Assistance

Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) can provide referrals and information for folks who are elderly and/or disabled, and for their family members.

Greater Madison Resource Center is helping families pay their bills. Families in need may receive up to $250 each in aid.

  • To apply: Submit your name, address, phone number and email contact to: 
  • Attach the bill(s) needing funding (up to approximately $250 per family) to your email request. (Pictures of bills vs scanned documents are ok, they need to be a clear readable picture, they also need to include your account information). GMRC will review & reply via email to those requesting funding within 24-48 hours.

Financial assistance will be paid directly to the provider, landlord etc. GMRC will not be sending funds directly to any individual or family.

Mutual Aid, Volunteering, and Donation

There are several ongoing community mutual aid efforts, which are being coordinated via spreadsheets and via Facebook. These community-organized resources, which are subject to change, provide a location to indicate needs and available volunteers.

The United Way provides a database of volunteer opportunities related to the COVID-19 crisis here.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County is raising funds for COVID-19 response efforts.

Election - How to Vote 

The Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary is April 7th.

Curbside In-Person Absentee Voting
The City of Madison is Offering Curbside Voting from March 20-April 3rd from 8:00am-6pm Monday-Friday: There are four reserved parking spots on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd outside the City-County Building and the Madison Municipal Building. You will need to present ID to receive an absentee ballot. If you are not already registered to vote at your current address, you may register to vote, with proof of residence, at any absentee voting location.
