Draft Metro Transit Network Redesign
The Transportation Policy and Planning Board is discussing the draft Metro Transit Network Redesign Plan at its meeting on Monday.  Take a look at the appendices files for coverage area map representation across the city and the district.  The key for the map shows the retained access, the new access and the areas where access will be lost.  You will notice a reoccurring theme, new access to new areas has been expanded for the most part.  For our area take a  look at page 20

Fire Chief Hiring Process
The Police and Fire Commission will be discussing the fire chief hiring process at its meeting on Tuesday.

Announcements

  • Public Health Madison & Dane County is issuing Face Covering Emergency Order #7, effective at 12:01am on February 1, 2022, immediately after the current order expires. Order #7 mirrors the requirements in Order #6. The Dane County Order requires face coverings among people ages two and older when in most enclosed spaces open to the public where other people are present. The order will expire on March 1, 2022. Please see the news release and Emergency Order #7 for details.
  • The City of Madison Food Policy Council announces the 2022 SEED Grants cycle to address food access issues in our community. SEED Grants are small grants designed to support new and recently emerging projects or programs that support access to healthy food in our community. Learn more here.
  • The City of Madison Traffic Engineering Division is again looking to hire a number of qualified candidates to work part-time as a School Crossing Guard for the remainder of the school year. The position is an integral part of safe walking and biking to school. Crossing Guards help children safely cross the street and serve as a visual reminder to drivers to slow down and follow traffic laws. Learn more and find out how to apply here.
