City Office Closures on January 2, 2023

Since New Year's Day falls on a Sunday this year, City administrative offices, including the Common Council office, will be closed on Monday, January 2, in observance of the holiday. Emergency services will be open; please call 911. Use Report a Problem for non-emergencies.

Meetings

The Common Council will meet in hybrid format at 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. Agenda includes commending Fire Marshal Edwin Ruckriegel on his retirement; celebrating 1/16/23 as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; authorizing a referendum to establish staggered alder terms; approving a Complete Green Streets policy; and more.

 Greater Madison MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) Policy Board will meet virtually on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 6:30PM. Items on the agenda include a presentation on MPO Funded Exchange Street Project and Request for Approval of Design Change and a presentation on Metro Transit Safety Planning Efforts.

Wishing you are having a great holiday season.  I am looking forward to all the new experiences 2023 will certainly bring and to make time for friends and family.  It was nice to be all togehter over Christmas. From my family to yours, Felicidades!!

This dataset covers DUIs from the Madison area since 2016 to the end of August 2022.  Be safe tonight, do not become a statistic! 

On average, since 2016 to 2021, over 700 tickets were issued per year.  The highest cases took place during the summer months.
