Road Flooding

We are experiencing extreme hazards throughout the west side of Madison with flooded roads.  Street flooding is occurring at multiple locations and appear to be more numerous on the west side of Madison.  The public is asked not to drive this evening.  In addition to the rain that has already fallen, an additional 1" to 2" of rain is possible.  The following locations are known to be flooded currently however additional locations are possible. 

 

McKenna Blvd in the area of Elver Park – Hammersley Rd to Schroeder Rd

Mineral Point Rd in the Gammon Rd area

Mineral Point at Junction Rd

Odana Rd in the Grand Canyon Dry area

Old Sauk Trails Office Park Area - Deming Way / Excelsior Dry / Fourier Dry 

Pleasant View Rd at Valley View Rd

Marty Rd and Raymond Rd

Segoe Rd and Regent St

 

In addition, rain this evening could flood streets that have drained down from earlier today. 

 

It is nearly impossible to judge the depth of water on roadways, especially at night.  Only a few inches of rain can cause automobiles to float.   Stay safe and stay put if at all possible.

 

In addition to the Madison Police and Fire Departments monitoring the event, City Engineering and City Traffic Engineering Crews are responding this evening.
