Regarding your recent emails

Hello neighbors,

If you've emailed me anything, please don't mistake my non-answers or silence as a lack of care for Black Lives or policing in Madison. Like other members of city council, I've received thousands of emails regarding MPD and the events of the last 2+ weeks. As I don't have an assistant, it is just me going through these messages. I am working very hard to review everything I receive, and file it to the appropriate mail folder, so I can then give an appropriate response.

This involves a lot of reading though very similar, though not exactly the same emails, to make sure I know what each message is looking for, to make sure that I am recording opinions of folks citywide, while making sure I can answer my constituents directly, and concisely.

Please be assured that I am taking all messages seriously, and that I will be getting answers to emails out to people as soon as I can. I've received thousands of emails over the last 2 weeks, and the process of reviewing and responding is taking longer than I'd like.

This is also in addition to my regular Alder duties, including committees, reviewing the agendas and the policy items included on them.

Please know I am working hard to review and respond to you concerns and that I will be answering you as soon as I can.
