Meeting and Event Highlights for the Week of July 26, 2021

City Employee Wage Increase Parity

The Committee on Employee Relations will be discussing a resolution to provide wage increase parity for general municipal employees at its meeting on Wednesday.

Events, activities, seminars, etc.

  • The second event in Madison Public Library's "Live Well@Your Library" in-person wellness series will be a multicultural, multigenerational and multisensory experience outdoors at Meadowood Park (located near Meadowridge Library) on July 25.  Children's activities will also be included so busy parents or caregivers can enjoy the event.   • The new Carts in Parks program will support community-based organizations interested in organizing micro-vendor markets throughout the City of Madison in City Parks. Latino Chamber of Commerce (LCC) Plaza Community Markets are designed to create opportunities for underrepresented communities of color. Their first event will be on Sunday, July 25, at Penn Park from 10am – 3pm.

  • LIFT Leopold at Aldo Leopold Park continuesVisit Aldo Leopold Park, 2906 Traceway Drive, on Tuesdays for the Leopold-Arbor Hills Neighborhood Resource Team's free family activities, July 27 through August 24. On July 27, Limanya African Dance and Drumming, light dinner, YMCA Flag Football drills and skills, Dream Bikes free bike repair, bike activities, and more. Find the schedule for all Tuesdays here.

  • What you need to know about the Delta variant, from Public Health Madison & Dane County.  Read more here.
  • The City has launched a new webpage for the American Rescue Plan Act to provide information about the planned allocation of federal funds to support an equitable recovery and continue to provide government services.  The City will host an information session to share information about the annual budget process and address funding allocations outlined in the plan.  The session will take place on July 27, 4pm-5pm.  The session will be recorded and posted to the webpage.  To join the July 27 meeting, click here.

  • Let's Talk About Streets.  The City of Madison wants to know what you think about the streets you use to work, live and play in the City of Madison. Please visit the City of Madison's Let's Talk Streets website and take the Community Survey.
