Public Market Budget Amendment - Alternate Side

The Council voted to maintain the Madison Public Market in the Capital budget with some modifications for the language, but not the financial.

The new budget language approved is:

No planned GO Borrowing will be appropriated for construction of the Public Market until the following conditions have been met: (1) The project has completed final design, the operating entity for the project has been established, a NGO or cooperative business model, external to the City, has been created and is in a position to assume responsibility for daily operations of the Public Market. (2) the total capital cost of the project has been determined, (3) all sources of capital have been committed, (4) the project has secured all required land use approvals, and (5) the overall development plan (design, operating plan, and capital financial structure) for the project has been approved by the Common Council.

Additionally, staff will make quarterly reports to the council on meaningful effort and progress to obtain non-city funding for the Public Market. 

 

Alternate side parking begins

Madison Alternate Side Parking November 15 - March 15 From 1:00 am until 7:00 am on EVEN days, park on the EVEN side of the street. From 1:00 am until 7:00 am on ODD days, park on the ODD side of the street.
