Northside Town Center
Quick update on the next phase of 2830 Dryden Drive multi-family development project. I organized the neighborhood meeting on May 28th in which the developer and the architect gave a presentation on the preliminary design and answered neighbors' questions. Now, the proposed new four story 27-Unit apartment building with underground and surface parking will give its introduction presentation at the Urban Design Commission (UDC) on June 12th.
The meeting will start at 4:30PM. Please feel free to join if you would like to hear more about the project. After this intro presentation the UDC will provide feedback and will review the project again in an upcoming meeting where neighbors will have opportunity to ask questions or provide feedback about the project.
More details of the project can be accessed at the following link:
6th Street Development Project on East Washington Neighborhood Meeting
Red Caboose Daycare and Movin Out are developing a 4-story building on 6th Street and East Washington, across from Union Corners. The building will be used by daycare services (where they will provide affordable daycare services) and affordable housing. The neighborhood meeting to discuss this project is scheduled for June 12th. Although this is not technically in our district, Emerson East and Eken Park neighbors who are living across the road can see the building from their homes. If you have questions about the project, please feel free to join the meeting. More details are listed below.
When: June 12, 2019
Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location: Goodman Community Center, Waubesa Room, 149 Waubesa Street
Washington Manor Park
Great news everyone! The pollinator garden has been approved for Washington Manor Park. This is a great opportunity for our kids to learn about Pollinators while they are playing in the park. Wisconsin pollinators include bees, butterflies, moths, flies, beetles, wasps, and hummingbirds. The City will order the plants and figure out a time to get together later next week to install the majority of them. The Eken Park Neighborhood Association will announce a volunteer date shortly to help with installing the plants. Please stay tuned.
Also, Eken Park Neighborhood Association is hosting an event for Washington Manor Playground Grand Opening and Make Music Madison on June 21st. More details about the event can be found at https://www.facebook.com/events/2310261815677296/?notif_t=plan_user_invited¬if_id=1560287094635301
