Inviting you to Important Upcoming Neighborhood Virtual Meetings

Good morning neighbors, 

Below are two virtual neighborhood meetings which I am organzing to engage residents and to collect your feedback. 

1.  Traffic Safety and Issues within the Emerson East Neighborhood

Many of you have reached out to me with your concerns about the recent accidents that have happened on First Street and Packers Avenue, First Street and East Washington, and also speeding related issues within the neighborhood roads and on East Washington. 

To address your concerns and questions, I have invited City Traffic Engineering, the mayor's office, and MPD North District Captain Kelly Donahue to have an interactive conversation. I encourage neighbors to join the meeting and bring their questions and ideas to the table.

2. 1017 N Sherman Ave Rezoning

The developer has submitted a Land Use Application and they are requesting the rezoning of one-half of the referenced parcel from Industrial General (IG) to Commercial Corridor - Transitional District (CC-T). The Sherman Ave street front is "CCT", whereas the east (back) half of the property, behind Kavanaugh's Esquire Club, is zoned "IG" industrial. Many of you have reached out to me with your concerns on changing from IG to CCT and to protect our wetlands.

I am hosting a neighorhood meeting to discuss this matter in detail with the developer and the city staff, and importantly, to receive your input and hear your concerns.
