Three Northside Meetings of Note

February 18, 2016 3:14 PM

Greetings! In the next two weeks there will be three very different meetings on the Northside of items that I believe are important to District 12 residents.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Oscar Mayer Site Public Listening Session

  • Wednesday February 24 6:30pm
  • Warner Park Recreation Center

Northside Alders to Host Listening Session on Oscar Mayer Site Alders Larry Palm (District 12) and Rebecca Kemble (District 18) are hosting a listening session for Northside residents and others interested in voicing their thoughts and opinions on the future of the Oscar Mayer site.

"This is a unique opportunity for neighborhood residents to offer their hopes and dreams for the Oscar Mayer site," said Ald. Larry Palm. "We will use community feedback to work with prospective buyers and work towards making what happens here a positive contribution to the Northside and all of Madison." The 50-acre site is currently listed for sale by Kraft Heinz and the plant will remain open for the next 8-20 months.

Elevation at the Airport development - 1804-1814 Packers Avenue

  • Monday February 22 6:30 pm
  • North District Police Station Community Room 2033 Londonderry Drive

Alder Palm invites you to a meeting to discuss a proposed apartment building with underground parking at the corner of Packers and Schlimgen Avenues on the former Hertz and next door house sites. Neighbors will have an opportunity to discuss the proposal with the developer and ask questions prior to its submittal to the Madison Plan Commission.

Warner Park Lagoon Public Meeting

  • Monday February 29 6:00 - 800pm
  • Warner Park Community Recreation Center, Community Room 1

The City of Madison, Wisconsin DNR, and several groups vested in Warner Lagoon have begun exploring a planning process with the intent of developing ideas for improving the water quality, environmental health, and recreational amenities of Warner Lagoon. As part of this planning process, we would like to hear from the neighbors and residents who use the lagoon.

This planning process is focused on the lagoon only, and does not extend to Warner Park as a whole.

The planning process is being partially funded by a grant from the Wisconsin DNR.

Purpose: The purpose of the planning process is to address the deteriorated quality of the lagoon. This will be achieved by engaging the stakeholders and the public to define and prioritize the objectives for improvement.

Product: The product of the planning process will be a document that is agreed upon by the majority of participants and proposes realistic projects that work toward achieving the defined objectives. This document will be used to plan future projects when resources become available.
