Roadway and Sidewalk Café Permits

The Finance Committee will be discussing several items related to roadside cafés, sidewalk cafes, and the Streatery program at its meeting on Monday, February 28.

ARPA Funds for Community Organizations Supporting Undocumented Immigrants

The Finance Committee will be discussing a proposal to allocate up to $700,000 in ARPA funds to community-based organizations supporting undocumented immigrants at its meeting on Monday, February 28.

Announcements

  • Due February 28 by 5pm - The City of Madison 2022 Budget includes $50,000 in grant funds to be distributed by the Madison Food Policy Council. The Madison Food Policy Council is encouraging community groups to apply for SEED Grants. Find more information here.
  • Due March 15 by 11:59pm - Madison Arts Commission annual grants of up to $3,000 to support art project are now open, and a special grant program called "Artists at Work" in the amount of $15,000 - $29,000 to support job creation for the creative sector will soon be posted.
  • Fueling Philanthropy, a group of UW students, have $50,000 to award to a number of Wisconsin-based 501c3s committed to sustainable social change (equity and inclusion work included). Find more information and a link to the application here. Application closes 3/11.
  • Governor Evers announced on Thursday, February 24, that five community projects in Madison will be funded through the State's Neighborhood Investment Fund. The Neighborhood Investment Fund was offered as a competitive grant for local and Tribal governments to invest in the recovery of their neighborhoods after COVID. Altogether, projects funded within Madison's borders will receive $20.8 million. The projects were funded through requests from the City of Madison, or through requests from Dane County with City support. Learn more, and see which projects were funded here.
