6:00 pm - Worker Cooperatives 101 & Intro to MCDC: Learn about worker cooperatives and how the Madison Cooperative Development Coalition can help you start one! We provide technical assistance, education and training, and grant opportunities. Light dinner will be provided.

7:30 pm - An Evening with Mariela Shaker: Mariela Shaker will discuss her journey to the United States and how she is currently using her music to build awareness and bring attention to how it can help with advocating for peace and social change. This lecture will also include a fifteen minute performance!

5:00 pm - For Sama: a documentary on refugees resilience: For Sama is a captivating and honest testament to the experiences of one woman and her community through the recent Syrian War. It tells the incredible story of Waad al-Kateab, a journalist/filmmaker who filmed her life for over five years during the conflict in Aleppo, Syria.

6:00 pm - UW–Madison Presents: Ada Deer -- Making a Difference: Join this celebration of Ada Deer '57, former assistant secretary of Indian affairs for the U.S. Department of the Interior and head of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, as she is recognized for her accomplishments, advocacy, and time at UW–Madison. She also will discuss her new memoir, Making a Difference: My Fight for Native Rights and Social Justice.

5:30 pm - ALCOHOL LICENSE REVIEW COMMITTEE: There are three items related to Visions on this week's ALRC agenda:

1)Item #5 - A recommendation for the 90 day suspension;

2)Item #34 – request to remodel which includes the private performance booths and the locker room area downstairs;

3)Item #51 – Entity Reorganization application. This seeks to add 3 new officers to the existing corporation and keep the current owner/manager (David Brown) as the liquor beer agent. 

6:00 pm - TASK FORCE ON MUNICIPAL GOLF IN MADISON PARKS: This will be the second meeting of the Golf Task Force. More information can be found at this website

7:30 pm - TASK FORCE ON STRUCTURE OF CITY GOVERNMENT: This will be the final meeting of the task force as it adopts its final recommendations. These recommendations will then be considered by the full common council.

6:30 pm - WI Film Fest: Thursday Night Movie Club presents Pet Names: When her chemotherapy patient mother urges her to take a vacation from playing nurse, grad school dropout Leigh invites her old high school boyfriend along on the camping trip. The two soon find that confronting old wounds during a weekend in the woods is anything but restful. Director Carol Brandt in attendance.

6:30 pm - Conservancy Day: Monarchs - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: Join us for a presentation by long-time area naturalist Diane Dempsey on what we have learned in the past about Monarchs, the state of Monarchs today and what we can hope for Monarchs in North America in the future.

7:00 pm - Everyone's Earth: The Power of Storytelling and TEK: A nationally renowned traditional Dakotah/Hidatsa elder, storyteller, and traditionalist enrolled at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation of North Dakota, Mary Louise Defender Wilson has been honored for her artistry with multiple Native American music and spoken word awards. We invite you to join us for a special evening with Mary Louise where we will explore the power of storytelling and traditional ecological knowledge.

6:00 pm - Trans Rights Law Panel: Q-Law is hosting a panel to discuss the rights of transgender individuals under the law in the state of Wisconsin. You will also hear from a UW alum who has authored an amicus brief on LGBT rights under Title VII. He will discuss how the Supreme Court is approaching the question of federal legal protections for Trans and non-binary folks under federal anti discrimination acts.

9:30 am - Device Fix IT Clinic with DANEnet: Have a Computer Question or Issue?If your computer or laptop is slow, not working, or seems to have a virus, bring it in for free tech support! Our volunteers will teach valuable repair skills, answer questions, and give technical advice about your device.
