Alder Foster’s Updates
New Pinney, Garver Path, Visions/Silk Exotic - D15 Update 12/16/19
Pinney Library Opening Date Set!
Pinney Library will close in its interim location on February 16 and reopen at the new library on March 12. A Grand Opening weekend will follow on March 14-15. You can find more details here and see the progress here.
Visions/Silk Exotic
On Tuesday at 6:30 pm, there will be a neighborhood meeting at Pedro's on E. Washington Avenue regarding Downtown Madison Investments LLC's applications for Class B Liquor, 21+ Entertainment, and Adult Entertainment Establishment Licenses for 3554 E. Washington Avenue, currently Visions Nightclub. The establishment's name would change to Silk Exotic Madison East Gentlemen's Club. Proposed hours of operation would be 7pm-2am Sunday through Thursday and 7pm-2:30am Friday and Saturday. Estimated capacity would be approximately 150. The on-site parking lot would be monitored by third party security. Parking would be provided by a valet company and would be off-site. These license applications are on the agenda for the Alcohol License Review Committee at its December 18 meeting.
Garver Path Public Information Meeting #2
The City of Madison is proposing the construction of a new 2800-foot long pedestrian shared use path that would connect the existing Capital City Path at Sugar Avenue northward to Milwaukee Street. Three structural elements are proposed as part of the design including a bridge through the northern limits of the project, a bridge replacement at Ivy Street, and a new bridge crossing over Starkweather Creek.
Based on feedback from the first meeting, an alternate alignment has been created that would run the path on the east side of the creek. This alignment would narrow Starkweather Drive and convert it to a one way street. This meeting is Thursday at 6p at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Learn more about the project here: https://www.cityofmadison.com/engineering/projects/garver-path
