2021 property assessments

District 15 single-family home values continue to be among the most affordable in the city, ranging from $206K on average in Hawthorne and Burke Heights to $251K in Eastmorland. The median single-family home value in Madison is now assessed at $299K. (D15 values in orange.)

2021 property assessment numbers were published last week. Assessed values are used to calculate property taxes for the city, county, and school districts. Property tax bills are calculated at the end of the year after each of the taxing authorities have approved their budget. You can find additional information on the 2021 assessments here.

This Week 

LENA April meeting

Join Lake Edge Neighborhood Association for their monthly meeting on Monday beginning at 6:30 pm. You can find all the details including a link to register here. Agenda items include a proposal for a new bar at the former Jo Beck's and a new coffee cart in the Red Lion parking lot.

Common Council

Tuesday marks the beginning of the new term for alders on the Common Council. The outgoing council will meet beginning at noon to recognize those members leaving the council and to swear in new alders. The council will also vote on the President and Vice President positions at that time. At 6:30, the council will reconvene for the first meeting of the new term. Home Composting Basics

Madison Public Libraries is offering an online Home Composting virtual meeting on Tuesday at 6 pm. You can find all the details here.

CRNA Earth Day Cleanup

There are many opportunities to participate in an Earth Day cleanup event on Saturday including the one sponsored by the Carpenter-Ridgeway Neighborhood Association and the onese in city parks that require sign up here.
