Last Day as Your Alder
Today is the last day of the current alder term and four years since I wrote my first blog post as your alder.
It’s been an incredible opportunity and I’ve learned a lot and I really appreciate the support and appreciation that many of you have offered along the way. In many ways, it’s hard to imagine not continuing to serve.
Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford will be sworn in tomorrow as your new District 15 alder. I’m excited for Dina to bring her perspective to the work of the city and wish her the best as she works to represent District 15 on the Madison Common Council.
LENA April Meeting
On Monday, the Lake Edge Community Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30pm via Zoom here.
First Common Council Meeting of New Term
On Tuesday, the Common Council will meet at noon to honor outgoing alders and swear in new alders. The new council will then elect a new council president and vice-president and the meeting will be adjourned until 6:30 pm for the first business meeting of the 2023-2025 alder term. You can find a link to the full agenda here.
Lake Edge Alcohol Licenses
On Wednesday, the Alcohol License Review Committee will consider a new alcohol license for Monona Bakery and a change in premises for the Muskellounge as they expand into the adjacent space. You can find all the details for the meeting and applications and register with comments here.
