New FedEx Facility opens in District 17

District 17 welcomes a new 385,000 square foot FedEx facility to employ 400 people. The facility is located at 7322 Manufacturers Dr. Here are some of the highlights.

• FedEx Ground has opened a new 385,000 square foot automated facility serving the Madison area. This state-of-the-art operation employs more than 400 team members and affirms FedEx Ground's commitment to technological innovation that drives our outstanding service.
   
• At a throughput of up to 15,000 packages per hour, the Madison facility is a shining example of FedEx Ground's recent capacity investments, which also include four automated stations, 11 regional sortation facilities, six large package centers, and the expansion of more than 80 existing operating facilities with additional material handling equipment and automation.
   
• The new automated facility in Madison is part of the highly flexible FedEx Ground network of nearly 690 sortation and distribution operations, including 160 fully automated stations. More than 97 percent of FedEx Ground's average daily package volume travels through an automated station each day.
