District 17 Community Meeting: Panel Discussion on Issues Facing Our City
Dear Neighbor,
This year the Madison community has had lively but difficult debates about the role of police in our city, and more fundamentally, how we live together as neighbors.
Adding to this debate is the seemingly increasing numbers of homeless citizens, the rise of violent crime, racial disparities in arrest and imprisonment in our community and the high unemployment rate, particularly among our most vulnerable populations.
I am committed to working with you to build a safe and respectful climate, increase trust and find opportunities for all of us to participate in making the city of Madison the best place to live.
You and your family are invited to a facilitated panel discussion that will include representatives from the community and law enforcement. There will be time to ask questions following the discussion. I hope you are able to attend.
