Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
As I write these notes, I read that the number of cases in Dane County has reached 67. It is anticipated that the number of cases will double every three days. It will stop doubling when people who are not sick keep their distance from infected people and the infection rate declines.
In addition to the serious illnesses experienced by many people, the social and economic effects will be felt by many more. Immediately, the thousands of residents working in the restaurant industry have lost work. Many more working in other retail businesses have lost employment. This will cause serious problems for them and their families.
The following are some resources that may be of use. These include food and, in some instances financial assistance. I've also included sites where we can make donations of money, food and other items.

Attach the bill(s) needing funding (up to approximately $250 per family) to your email request. (Pictures of bills vs scanned documents are ok, they need to be a clear readable picture, they also need to include your account information).
GMRC will review & reply via email to those receiving funding within 24-48 hours. Financial assistance will be paid directly to the provider, landlord etc. GMRC will not be sending funds directly to any individual or family.
To provide donations, you can send funds via paypal (https://www.paypal.me/GMRCMADISON) with a note that it's for COVID-19 community measures. You can also donate through Facebook.
Drop off supplies at GMRC, 14 N 6th Street, Madison WI 53704; They will be collecting sanitizer, soap, laundry soap, toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning wipes (Clorox etc.), food, baby wipes, diapers, menstrual hygiene products, and OTC meds such as tylenol, cold medicine, etc. as well as Kwik Trip gas cards.

Small Businesses & Non-Profits Resources:

Businesses and non-profits can begin their loan applications at www.sba.gov/disaster. The Wisconsin Small Business Development (SBDC) Network and partners are helping small businesses apply for federal disaster loans to mitigate the substantial economic injury as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additional business resources can be found on Wisconsin SBDC's website https://wisconsinsbdc.org/covid-19/ and Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship's website, www.business.wisconsin.edu/covid-19. The UW System is sharing updates regularly at www.wisconsin.edu/coronavirus.
