Controlled Burn at Cherokee Marsh Today

Madison Parks will conduct controlled burns at the North and South Units of Cherokee Marsh today, March 26, 2019.

We will begin at the South Unit, along the 500 block of Wheeler Road. This burn unit is tallgrass prairie that has been mowed and is currently very short. We expect to be on site between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Depending on conditions, we may then proceed to the North Unit at 6098 N. Sherman Ave. We expect to be finished by 4:00 PM.

Conservation Technician Jay Walters will be leading the burns today and may be reached on site at 608-354-2435.

We will call the Madison Fire Department and the Dane County 911 Dispatch Center before we begin.
