More Great events at Troy Gardens. Don't forget to mark your calendar.
Thursday Nights at Troy
- Farm Stand - Every Thursday from June 15 to October 12th from 4-7pm.
- Dinners in the Garden - Every Thursday from June 15 to September 14 from 4-7pm. Each week offers a new unique flavor and the first Thursday of every month is pay-what-you-can. We will occasionally host special workshops and activities as well.
Community Tours and Workdays
- Held the last Saturday of the month on May 27, June 4, July 29, August 26, and September 30th from 9:30am to 12pm. We will start with a tour of the land at 502 Troy Drive and share about all the things happening here. The Community Workday will take place from 10am to 12pm, followed by a potluck at 12pm.
Community Workshops
- Saturday May 27 1-3pm- 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs to Troy Farm. Growing and Using Tiger Nuts - Come learn more about these amazing African Tubers from Kim Fruin of FarmHerGreens.
- Saturday June 10 1-3pm - 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs to Troy Farm. Afro Indigenous Outdoor Cooking - Come learn more about Afro Indigenous crops and how to cook with them from Yusuf Bin-Rella of TradeRoots.
- Saturday June 24 9:30am to 3pm- 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs to Troy Farm. Community Workday for TradeRoots, Youth Empowerment Initiatives, FarmHerGreens, and Occupy Madison. There are a lot of amazing organizations and people that grow in the farm production area at 502 Troy Drive. Come lend a hand and learn more about what we all are growing and doing.
- Saturday July 29 1-3pm- 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs to Troy Farm. Seed Saving - Learn more about how to save seeds for your garden from Ryan Dostal of Allen Centennial Gardens.
- Thursday August 24 - 6-7pm 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs. Tea Workshop - Learn more about what herbs you can grow and how to use those herbs to make tea from local farmers at Occupy Madison.
- Saturday August 26 - 1-3pm 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs to Troy Farm. Tropical Vegetables in Wisconsin - Learn about some tropical vegetables you can actually grow in Wisconsin from Sei Kidau of Youth Empowerment Initiatives.
- Thursday September 21 - 4-7pm 502 Troy Drive. Follow the Signs. Flower Empowerment - Various Fun and Family-Friendly Activities led by Occupy Madison.
