And now we vote

November 8, 2016 12:18 AM

Dear Neighbors,

After a long season of primaries, debates, commercials, yard signs, flyers and the rest, it all comes down to you, to me, to all of us, to exercise our right and our duty to vote.

Many of you have already taken advantage of early/absentee voting. Rest assured your vote will be counted, accurately and confidentially, at your polling place on Tuesday.

For everyone else, polling places are open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM on Tuesday. Lines may be long at times (it's very hard to predict) so please give yourself time and bring a helping of patience. Bring your photo ID and if you need to register, bring your proof of address. You can use MyVote Wisconsin to check your registration status, find your polling place, and see a sample ballot. Don't forget to turn your ballot over for the school referendum.

If you have any other questions about voting, please check the City Clerk Web site or give them a call at 608-266-4601. If you can't get them on the phone (election days are extraordinarily busy for them of course), you are welcome to call me (608-695-5709) with any questions. They and I are committed to ensuring every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot.

Thank you!

Ald. Mark Clear
