Hello Friends and Neighbors,

It may be the holiday season, but there's no slowing down at City Hall. Here's a roundup of news in and affecting our area:

Thanksgiving Trash Pickup

If your usual pick-up day is Friday, your trash/recycle pickup is on Monday (Nov. 28). Since it's a double-shift day, be sure to have your cart(s) out by 7:00 am.

Illumina Meeting

Please join me for a neighborhood meeting to discuss a proposal by Illumina for a 130,000 square foot lab/office facility on a 17-acre site in the southwest corner of University Research Park near the intersection of Odana Road and Research Park Boulevard (see project location map below). Representatives of the development team will present the proposal and answer your questions. Representatives from the research park will also be on hand.

Traffic Signal Public Hearing

The city's Pedestrian Bicycle Motor Vehicle Commission will holding its annual hearing on the 2016 Traffic Signal Priority List on Tuesday 11/28. If you are interested in speaking on the issue of a potential city-funded signal at Gammon and Colony in 2017, this is a good time to have your voice heard. A signal at this intersection is a condition of approval for the proposed daycare at the NE corner of the intersection.

The agenda is available here (link). No decisions will be made at this meeting. Note that the meeting starts at 5:00 but the previous agenda item is quite controversial so it may take some time.
