Oakwood Village University Woods Campus Redevelopment Neighborhood Meeting

April 20, 2019 3:36 PM

On Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., I will be hosting a neighborhood meeting for a presentation on Oakwood Village's proposed University Woods Campus Redevelopment Plan.

This meeting will provide neighbors with an update on a redevelopment proposal by Oakwood Village as well as an overview of elements to be studied and further developed in the Schematic Design phase for the campus. Oakwood's Redevelopment Team will lead the discussion and answer your questions.

Here's the meeting description from their team:

We invite you to join us and learn more about Oakwood's plans to redevelop its University Woods campus.  Key project goals include replacing outdated buildings on the 70-year old campus with new life lease housing to meet growing demand, as well as improving way-finding, parking, and accessibility for campus visitors.  Work is intended to occur over a seven-year period to minimize the impact on Oakwood residents and the surrounding area.

The presentation will be held in the Heritage Oaks building located at 6205 Mineral Point Road. When entering the campus off of Island Drive, take a left and follow the signs to Heritage Oaks Main Entrance. You will continue going straight and will follow the road until you reach a stop sign. At the stop sign take a right and you will go under a skywalk above you. You can see a map which shows where the visitor parking is located. Once you enter the Heritage Oaks entrance you will be in the lobby and the presentation will be held behind the reception desk in the Nakoma and Westmorland Rooms.

4/21/2019 Update: For those of you who can't make this meeting, I will be posting the slides from the presentation online after the meeting. This project is also in the early stages and hasn't been in front of any City of Madison commitees yet. It has not received any approvals.

As always, if there is anything I can do to help, feel free to reach out:
