Proposed Redevelopment of 5810 Mineral Point Road (CUNA Mutual) Meeting Agenda - 11/20/19

November 19, 2019 9:27 AM

I wanted to share the agenda for tomorrow's neighborhood meeting at CUNA Mutual. CUNA Mutual will be sharing details of the proposed redevelopment of their building at 5810 Mineral Point Road. Although this project is not in District 19, it's adjacent to some homes in the district. I had an opportunity to get a briefing on their project yesterday.

CUNA Mutual has been in Madison since the 1930s. They have been located at their Mineral Point Road campus since the 1960s. This new project is focused on improving their meeting and event space. They are not adding additional office space as part of this project.

Their project requires Plan Commission approval for demolition and a minor height variance. The building will be 4 stories with a 5th penthouse story set back from the rest of the floors. They expect to be in front of the Plan Commission on January 13th. Their goal is to start a two year construction process in the Spring.

If you can't attend tomorrow's meeting, I will be posting the presentation on this blog and can forward any questions to the CUNA Mutual Redevelopment Team.

Wednesday, November 20, 2019- 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
HUB Building, 5810 Mineral Point Road (CUNA Mutual Campus)

Please join us for a neighborhood meeting where we will hear about CUNA Mutual's proposal to replace the round HUB building at 5810 Mineral Point Road. CUNA Mutual proposes to demolish the existing 60,000 square foot building and replace it with a new, five-story, 230,000 square foot building with 220 underground parking stalls. The new building will contain dining space, collaborative spaces, an auditorium, a customer center and two levels of underground parking.
