Element Collective (UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PARK / Mandel Group) Neighborhood Meeting and Update

Neighborhood Meeting Graphic

On November 16, Alder Henak, Martin and I hosted a community meeting to discuss a development proposed from University Research Park (URP) and the Mandel Group. The proposal is a mixed-use development located at the southwest corner of Mineral Point Road and Whitney Way. The proposed project will incorporate elements open both to companies in URP and the surrounding community, including a food hall with events space, a fitness center featuring a climbing and bouldering gym, multifamily housing, a lab building, and a future hotel.

The site is currently zoned Suburban Employment (SE). Portions of the site will require rezoning to support the proposed uses. Further conditional use approvals are required for certain parts of the development proposal. Site development will include the construction of two new public streets.

Here's information from that meeting:

You can review their first application which addresses zoning at https://www.cityofmadison.com/dpced/planning/5501-mineral-point-road-425-441-charmany-drive/3535/

The City of Madison Plan Commission will consider the application on Monday, January 25th, 2021 at 5:45 p.m.

The Common Council will consider the application on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 6:45pm.
