Craig Ave, Thanksgiving Impact on Services and Other Highlights for the Week of November 22

November 21, 2021 1:50 PM

Craig Ave. Resurfacing Public Information Meeting on Tuesday

Engineering will hold a public information meeting to share information about the Craig Avenue Resurfacing project on Tuesday at 6pm via Zoom:

?Thanksgiving Impact on City Services

  • City administrative offices are closed on November 25 and 26. Emergency services will be open; please call 911. Use Report a Problem for non-emergencies.

  • The Streets Division does not provide refuse, large item, recycling, brush, or leaf/yard waste collection on City holidays. Drop-off sites will also be closed on Thursday and Friday.
    • Residents in the Thursday refuse district will have their material collected the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
    • Residents in the Friday District will have their material collected on the following Monday.

Announcements, press releases, press conferences, etc.

  • As the City works to plan reconstruction on an iconic passage into the City of Madison, so many people and ideas contributed to the current skyline and beautiful drive into the heart of the city on John Nolen Drive. Everyday Engineering podcast host and Engineering Public Information Officer Hannah Mohelnitzky hosts Madison historian and author David Mollenhoff to talk about what ideas and designs were initially planned for the city's most well-known street, the vision of John Nolen, collaboration with American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright (among many impressive others, too!) and the lasting legacy that may have you saying "Thank you, John Nolen!" the next time you drive downtown. Download/share/listen link.

  • Streets Division drop-off sites hours are changing soon. The winter hours officially begin on Monday, November 29. This also means the final Saturday hours for 2021 at the Streets Division drop-off sites will be Saturday, November 27. Learn more here.

If you have questions, comments, suggestions, etc., about the budget, feel free to reach out: district19@cityofmadison.com

Happy Thanksgiving!
