Neighborhood news and notes for April 10

April 10, 2012 7:13 PM

Hello everyone, he's an update on news and events in District 19.

University Crossing Phase 2

Phase 2 received final approval from the Urban Design Commission last week and from the Plan Commission last night. The project will be before the common council next Tuesday 4/17 for it's last approval step. For more information about Phase 2, click on the Development tab above.

Community Budget Conversations

It's not too early to start talking about the 2013 city budget! Please join your neighbors, city staff, Mayor Soglin and alders to help develop the city's 2013 budget. In these challenging times, citizen involvement is more important than ever. We invite you to participate in person and online.

This year's conversations will have two significant differences from last year's. First, we're starting much earlier, before the budget starts to be assembled. That will help ensure that citizen input makes a difference. Second, the meetings will no longer be focused on specific budget areas; they will each cover everything. That means you can pick the meeting closest to you, rather than the one(s) covering topics of interest to you.

The West side meeting is:
Wednesday, May 2, 7-9pm, Toki Middle School, 5606 Russett Road
