The agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in. Some items may be on the consent agenda*. Commissioners will conduct a public listening session for general comment regarding the appropriate scope of the recruitment and search for the next Police Chief; the pertinent needs of the community; and the most important characteristics of candidates in such categories as leadership style, administrative experience, field experience, community involvement, educational background, and supplementary training.

2014 Executive Operating Budget---agenda item 15

Amending Sections 28.151 and 28.211 of the Madison General Ordinances to allow overnight sleeping in tents or in other temporary portable shelters as an accessory use of a religious institution or a nonprofit organization in specific districts--agenda item 18.

This ordinance would allow, for example, tents or "Tiny Houses" in these locations.

Direct The Community Development Authority of the City of Madison ("CDA") to draft and issue a request for qualifications ("RFQ") for development services relating to the development and financing of housing for homeless adults--agenda item 37.

No appropriation is required for the development, issuance, and review related to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Existing staff resources will be allocated to the RFQ process. The 2014 Executive Capital Budget includes in the Planning and Community and Economic Development agency funding of $300,000 to study and begin pre-development for a single-room occupancy (SRO) development.
