District 2 Updates and Meetings of Interest
 
City meetings continue to be mostly virtual with details listed in City Meetings of Interest below. Common Council meetings are hybrid so the public can attend in person or via Zoom.

Bigger than Roe March on State Street on Sunday, Jan. 22

On Sunday, January 22, 2023, there will be Rally and March entitled Bigger than Roe. The Confluence at Library Mall (800 block of State Street) will see a rally and its setup from 8am to 2:30pm. After the rally at Library Mall starting at 11am, the march will take place from about 12pm-12:45pm going from Library Mall down State Street to Capitol Square. State Street will be closed during the March and traffic on cross streets and the Square could also be impacted at times during the March.

 

Sidewalk and Roadway Cafe License Applications Open for 2023-24 Season

It is the time of year again to apply for Sidewalk Café and/or Roadway Café for the 2023-2024 vending season that begins on April 15, 2023. 
 
Click here for the Quick Guide to applying for your license. Licenses must be reapplied for and cannot be renewed. You will need to gather all required documents to avoid delays in processing your application.
 
If you still have an outstanding invoice with the City for your café, you will not be issued a new license for next season until the payment for this current season is received.  This means you will not be able to operate your café after 4/14/2023 until the payment is processed.
 
Important Dates:

  • 1/7/23 – Application portal opens.
  • 2/1/23 – Application deadline for existing license holders to avoid late fees.
  • 2/1/23-4/1/23 – Staff process applications, confirm site assignments and issue invoices for fees.
  • 4/1/23 – Fees due for existing license holders to avoid late fees.
  • 4/14/23 – Last day of the 2022-2023 vending season
  • 4/15/23 – First Day of the 2023-2024 vending season and the first Dane County Farmers' Market of the season.
