Week of February 9 Meetings of Possible Interest to District 2

The week of February 9 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Plan Commission, the Economic Development Strategy Subcommittee,  the Board of Park Commissioners and the Emerson East-Eken Park-Yahara Neighborhood Plan Steering Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

    1. Does this require any new strategies?

4. Review need for an additional strategy corresponding to original Goal 3:

Disadvantaged Populations

5. Review need for additional strategy regarding economic development promoted by connecting Madison to specific groups: tourists, young professionals, regional entertainment seekers, new residents

    1. Identify projects and initiatives related to this such as: vital Downtown, vibrant entertainment district, vibrant arts and culture district (eg museums); welcoming culture for tourism, appropriate infrastructure for these issues, etc.

6. Review final strategies, projects and initiatives and partners

7. Review prioritization of projects and initiatives

8. Check/review areas that might be added to districts/zones/nodes & destinations

9. How to measure, at the macro-level, the effectiveness of this strategy in 5-10 years
