The week of November 9 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Board of Estimates, the Neighborhood Meeting - Development Proposal at 126 Langdon Street, and the Common Council. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in. I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda. If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Neighborhood Meeting – Development Proposal at 126 Langdon Street

Please join me for a neighborhood meeting to learn about a development proposal from Aspen Heights Partners of Austin, Texas for the property at 126 Langdon Street. Aspen Heights Partners have done 22 projects in 18 markets, predominately student housing.

The proposal calls for the existing building, which houses approximately 336 beds, to be demolished and a new building, which would house approximately 450 beds, to be constructed. All of the units would be at market rate. The developers hope to expand the new building's footprint into the current parking lot, and they intend to provide vehicular parking for about 60 cars in a two level garage, plus additional moped and bicycle parking. There would be a 24/7 on-site manager and a security firm for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and selected other busy periods.
