The week of July 18 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Committee on the Environment, the Sustainable Madison Committee, the Common Council Discussion – Finance Department Overview: 2016 Current Budget & 2017 Budget, the Common Council, the Economic Development Committee, the Alcohol License Review Committee, the Downtown Coordinating Committee and the Landlord and Tenant Issues Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Report of the Mayor submitting citizen committee appointments (introduction 7-5-2016; action 7-19-2016).

URBAN DESIGN COMMISSION

RAFEEQ ASAD (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Design Professional. Mr. Asad is an architect with Flad Architects. He is involved with numerous groups, including the National Association of Minority Architects, 100 Black Men of Madison and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Mr. Asad succeeds Lois Braun-Oddo who assumed the Registered Architect position.

TERM EXPIRES: 6-30-2019

LOIS BRAUN-ODDO (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Registered Architect. Ms. Braun-Oddo currently holds the Design Professional position and has served since 7-21-2015. She succeeds Mark M. Smith.

DISABILITY RIGHTS COMMISSION

ERIC KOCH (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident. Mr. Koch is a legislative aide with the Wisconsin State Assembly. He has served as a volunteer for several political campaigns and has participated in Get Out The Vote efforts. Mr. Koch succeeds Anna P. Gouker.
