II. Join the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association Board
III. Portland Park Neighborhood Input Meeting
IV. North Star Dog Park Update
V. Bus Rapid Transit Input Meeting
VI. Law Park Engagement Opportunities
VII. Stay Tuned for the Slides from The Ace Apartments Meeting
Hi everyone,
I have a very time sensitive update, and several other items of interest:
1. Meadowlands Multi-Family Residences Proposal will NOT be at Plan Commission on Monday, August 26. It's now tentatively scheduled to be at Plan Commission on Monday, October 28.
The developer has requested that it be referred to the October 28 Plan Commission meeting. The proposal did not receive a preliminary approval at Urban Design Commission last week, so changes are being made to the design and it will come before the Urban Design Commission again before going to the Plan Commission. I'll keep everyone posted on this.
Thus, it is not necessary to attend the August 26 Plan Commission meeting to provide testimony on the Meadowlands project as it will not be on the agenda. Instead, please tentatively hold Monday, October 28 on your calendar.
2. Make a Difference: Join the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association Board
Have you wanted to make a difference and get more involved with your neighborhood?
The Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association is looking for individuals in the neighborhood willing to dedicate an hour or so a month to be on the Board of Directors to help plan events, keep our neighborhood informed, and make sure that everyone has a voice.
If interested, please send an email to rolling.meadows.na@gmail.com and come to the next RMNA meeting, September 12, 7pm, at New Beginnings/Victory Hmong Alliance Church, 602 Acewood Blvd, Madison, WI 53714.
3. Portland Park Neighborhood Input Meeting
Public Input Meeting One
Wednesday, September 11, 6:30-7:30 pm
Kennedy Elementary School -- Library
221 Meadowlark Drive
Madison, WI 53714
Parks staff will be holding a Public Input Meeting to discuss the Portland Park Master Plan. At this session, attendees will examine opportunities and constraints of the site, give input regarding their preferences and priorities for amenities to include in the park, and participate in a planning exercise related to park amenity planning.
4. North Star Dog Park Update
Final construction plans are near complete, permits have been obtained, and the Parks department anticipates bidding plans for construction on August 29.. If bids are accepted, the contract will go to the Board of Public Works for approval on October 2, and then to the Common Council for approval on October 15. The earliest the contractor will likely be able to begin work is in mid-November.
The Contract requires that the project is completed by May 29, 2020.
Follow this website for updates on the park progress.
5. Public Meeting on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Public Meeting #3

6. Law Park Engagement Opportunities
A Madison lakefront for all. What does Law Park mean to you?
Imagine fishing, biking, water sports and outdoor play along with arts, entertainment, and food while people and families gather and have fun in and around this downtown waterfront park! The City of Madison Parks Division is developing a preliminary report for Law Park that will serve as a reference and guide for future master plan development. The community is invited to join the conversation at a workshop, open house and online survey.
Next workshop:
