COVID-19 update and resources
Hello everyone,
Effective at 5 pm today, Public Health for Madison and Dane County has issued a countywide order to stop mass gatherings of 250 or more individuals to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, effective at 5 pm on Friday, March 13. This order will continue until further notice, or until it is rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Public Health Officer. See their news release for more information. They also have answers to possible questions about this order.
Who's considered at higher risk of illness
Additionally, people at higher risk for severe illness should stay home and away from large groups as much as possible. This includes public places with lots of people and large gatherings where there will be close contact with others. People at higher risk include:
-
People 60 and older
-
People with underlying health conditions including heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes
-
People who have weakened immune systems
-
People who are pregnant
Resources available if needed - this is a working list.
If you're at higher risk and in need of food or supplies:
-

-
