Monday September 26
Metro Public Information Meeting
Study of Permanent Relocation of Buses to Willy
7p WilMar

Metro will present the result of rider surveys and other data. They have announced on their website that the bus stops on the 1200 block of Williamson will be altered for the duration of the detour beginning Wed Sept 28. The inbound stop will be relocated across from the Fire Station and the outbound location, depending on the route, will be relocated to 400 blk S Baldwin St or the 1300 blk of Willy in front of St Vinny's.

I have been asked to advise Metro about my opinion regarding continuing the study beyond the completion of Jenifer St reconstruction to gather real time data once Jenifer St is reopened and traffic normalizes. With the extension, we can also determine whether the relocation of bus stops on the 1200 block will improve the parking concerns of businesses on that block and general parking patterns for the corridor. And we will be able to study the route in winter driving conditions. This would delay any final decision by the Transit and Parking Commission about the location of the final route until February-March 2017. I have until early Oct to tell Metro staff whether I would support the additional time to continue to gather data. At this time, I am supportive of more study so we can make an informed decision. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the meeting because of the Board of Estimates meeting and a memorial service that begins at 6:30. Please email me to tell me what you think or let Metro know at the meeting or email Metro at
