Update on Plan Commission Review of Future Land Use Maps for Marquette

March 18, 2018 9:33 PM

Thanks to everyone who participated in conversations about the Future Land Maps for the Comprehensive Plan AKA Imagine Madison.  About twenty neighbors attended the Special Meeting of the Plan Commission on Monday March 12 in support of changing the land use classifications to better represent what neighbors think are sustainable densities for the historic Marquette neighborhood.

Thirteen residents testified and I shared comments as well. Overall, the Plan Commission heard you and agreed with the majority of MNA's recommendations. I will keep you informed about the comp plan process. It will be introduced soon and start to circulate to city committees. Let me know if you have questions.

PROPOSED LAND USE CLASSIFICATIONS

LR/low residential >1-2 stories, 0-15 dwelling units per acre "DUA"
LMR/low medium residential >1-3 stories, 7-30 DUA
MR/medium residential >2-5 stories, 20-90 DUA
NMU/neighborhood mixed use >2-4 stories, up to 70 DUA
CMU/community mixed use >2-6 stories, up to 130 DUA
