Holiday Hours and Office Closures

City administrative offices, including the Common Council Office, will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All emergency services will be open; please call 911. Use Report-a-Problem for non-emergencies that can wait until the next City working day.

Meetings

The Common Council will meet in hybrid format at 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. Agenda includes appointing Barbara Vedder as District 12 Alder; commemorating Jan. 27th as International Holocaust Remembrance Day; amending Chap. 28 of the Madison General Ordinances to implement the TOD Overlay District; & more.

• FREE HUD-Approved Homebuyer Education Class (In-Person)-Saturday, January 21, 2023: The City of Madison, in partnership with the Home Buyers Round Table of Dane County and Consumer Credit Counseling Service, want to share with you the first HUD Approved Homebuyer Education class of 2023!

• Madison-Dane County MLK Day observance: Monday, January 16, 2023, beginning at 5:15pm. The King Coalition is excited to welcome Donzaleigh Abernathy as keynote speaker marking our return back to an in-person event for the 38th Annual Madison & Dane County King Holiday Observance for MLK Day 2023.

• MADISON METRO: SAFETY, SECURITY, AND PREPAREDNESS PLANNING: In partnership with Madison METRO's Safety Coordinator, Public Health's Violence Prevention Unit is hosting a virtual session on transportation safety. The session takes place on Wednesday, January 18th from 12pm to 1pm.
