Highlights: On Monday learn more about the County proposal to install a boom to trap material as part of a Yahara Place Park shoreline project. Tuesday is Election Day- we are lucky to have great candidates to choose from! There are no city meetings scheduled. On Wednesday, the Beacon, the homeless day resource center, is holding a community meeting to share new systems and processes they have established.  The city is holding a second listening session about street use events on Thursday.

Yahara Place Park Shoreline neighborhood meeting

Dane County is working on a project to improve/clean lake shorelines, and they propose to test it at Yahara Place Park. The project, which would be funded by Dane County, consists of placing a boom wall in the lake which would trap material and then allow Dane County staff to remove algae and accumulated material on the shoreline. Please join me for a neighborhood meeting where John Reimer, Interim Deputy Director of Dane County Land & Water Resources Department, will give a presentation on the project.?

The Beacon is inviting neighbors to a community update to share how they are responding to neighborhood concerns about trespassing and other activities by some clients of the homeless day resource center. Beacon staff has adopted a new code of conduct policy. MPD staff will be in attendance. Hope to see you there.

Atwood Public Information Meeting #2

The City will hold a public information meeting on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6:30-8pm at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in the Evjue Commons, 3330 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI. A brief presentation will be provided at 6:45PM. The city of Madison and design consultant representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project and address questions or concerns. Comments were received following the first public meeting this past October and this is an opportunity for you to come and see how we've considered your comments and implemented them into the design. In addition, this is another opportunity to offer comments and feedback that will help continue to shape the future of the Atwood Avenue corridor.


Construction is scheduled for 2020.

The Board will review the Winnebago St reconstruction options. Last week the Ped Bike Motor Vehicle Commission recommended Option 2.  City Engineering is currently recommending Option 1 after conducting a parking study.
