Wisconsin & Southern Railroad plans to perform weed control and spraying activities in the City of Madison during the week of Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Activities are weather dependent. Weed control and spraying is part of the railroad's system-wide maintenance program, conducted by a certified contractor. All spraying will occur within the railroad right-of-way.
About Weed Control spraying on railroad property
The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad conducts weed and brush control spraying along the tracks two times a year, generally in spring and fall. The application is performed by the railroad company to control weeds, promote effective drainage, improve safety for railroad workers and protect and extend the life of the railroad.
