Q: Why won't the system accept my ticket number or case number?
  • Check your copy of the ticket or court paperwork to be sure you have the correct number.
  • Check the court's address. If the address is anything other than 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, you will not be able to pay your ticket using this system.
  • If you are still having problems, please contact the court at (608) 264-9282.
Q: Should I pay my citation if I'm planning on contesting the charge in court?
A: You do not need to pay your fine before your court date. If you choose to not contest your ticket in court, a default judgment will be entered and you will have 30 days from the court date to pay your fine.
Q: What if I don't know how much I owe?
A: You can refer to the citation or court paperwork for your fine amount. You may also contact the court at (608) 264-9282. Please don't overpay. Call the court if you are unsure of your balance.
Q: Can I make partial payments?
A: You can make partial payments on this site. If you are on a payment plan, we will advance your due date accordingly. You are responsible for keeping track of your balance.
Q: What happens if I have a license suspension or warrant for my unpaid fines?
A: The court will release any license suspensions or warrants issued for failure to pay upon receiving payment in full. If you pay a ticket with a suspension, you must wait 48 hours before reinstating your license with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Q: How quickly does my payment get applied to my case when I use the online payment system?
A: Payments are reported to the Municipal Court by approximately 3:45 pm the following business day after the payment is made online. If you need to have the payment applied more quickly than that, you will need to pay in person at the Municipal Court office. If your driver's license has been suspended, you will need to wait an additional 24 hours for the release to clear at the Department of Motor Vehicles before you reinstate your license.
