    It’s time to move back.   On November 30, 2015 the Madison Fire Department will be moving back into Fire Station #1.     I am excited to introduce a project that the MFD is supporting in conjunction with the Dane County EMS office and funded by Meriter Hospital. The project is called Dane PulsePoint. The purpose is to save more lives by increasing the rates of bystander chest compressions and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) use in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. Read more »

    March 13, 2014 kicked off the start of CampHERO in the City of Madison.  CampHERO is an all-girls camp that educates girls and young women on non-traditional career choices in the field of public safety.  The camp was started here in the City of Madison by our female public safety responders as a way to introduce girls to careers in police, fire, and emergency medicine.  Madison College and the Girl Scouts of America are two key sponsors of the program.  CampHERO offers programs for girls of all ages, from those entering kindergarten through recent graduating seniors in high school.  Partic Read more »
