Service Dog In Training Gets To Know Firefighters At Station 5

Bob, Buddy, and FF EmbersonStation 5 was recently paid a special visit by a furry friend named Buddy! Buddy is in training to become a service dog for kids living with autism.

Right now, Buddy is being trained by Bob and his family through a program called Dogs In Vests. This organization works to get dogs trained and paired with a child in need.

Bob and Buddy stopped by the station so Buddy could become familiar with fire gear. This is important so Buddy knows that firefighters in their gear are not going to harm their child. To help Buddy out, Firefighter Sean Emberson geared up and began to play with Buddy. They hit it off right away!

Bob, Buddy, and their family live in Engine 5’s neighborhood. It was an honor to meet them both!!
