Two Transported From Scene Of Multi-Vehicle Crash
Engine Co. 14, Medic 4, and Medic 10 responded to reports of multiple vehicle accidents across several intersections along Milwaukee Street.
Upon turning onto Milwaukee Street from Highway 51, Engine Co. 14 located a pickup truck on the road with obvious damage, but the driver advised firefighters to keep going—there was another accident up the road. Engine Co. 14 proceeded toward West Corporate Drive, where they found a two-vehicle accident. Still, they continued onward because 911 dispatchers advised another damaged vehicle ahead, this one engulfed in flames on Harding Street, just off Milwaukee Street. Engine Co. 14 pulled a pre-connect line and suppressed the vehicle fire. They also assessed the two vehicle occupants who were standing on the side of the road. Medic 4 transported the driver of the vehicle to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger remained with police.
Madison Police also advised Medic 10 that there may be a bicyclist injured down the road. Medic 10 surveyed the area but did not find any critical patients. They returned to the original scene and met with the driver of a damaged vehicle that was struck by an oncoming vehicle. That individual also suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local ER.
