  • This course on meeting skills focuses on how to plan and run effective meetings. The emphasis of the course is on reducing the number and frequency of non-value added meetings and making those meetings that are necessary tighter and more productive. The course addresses how leadership style interacts with meeting effectiveness. Participants will learn how to:

    • Determine when a meeting is necessary
    • Develop meeting objectives
    • Focus a meeting
    • Manage participants
    • Deal with stuck meetings
    • Deal with difficult participants
    • Close and follow-up meetings

  • This course studies the stages of team development and provides tools to help teams focus on their goals, overcome barriers, develop consensus and deliver results. Leadership, facilitator and followership attributes will also be discussed.

  • What makes a training or presentation excellent? How can you design your trainings, presentations, and workshops to maximize your participant's learning? In this course we will explore these questions and accomplish the following objectives:

    • Learners will understand the theory behind how adults learn and they will be able to apply this theory to their trainings and presentations.
    • Participants will understand the difference between facilitating and training and gain tools to facilitate challenging attendees.
    • Learners will leave the session with alternate methods for training delivery besides PowerPoint/lecture.
    • As a result of applying the tools learned in this session, participants can expect to see improved evaluations of the trainings they conduct.
