Details

MPD officers found a van in the middle of Blue Ridge Parkway early Monday morning. Looking around, they noticed a nearby garage door open, and that a door from the open garage into a home was ajar. They announced their presence and contacted members of a family that had been sleeping while their house was burglarized. Officers learned a garage door was accidently left open, and that an intruder stole two sets of keys, and a laptop computer. The van had been parked in the driveway, behind a 2016 Mazda CX that had been in the garage. The criminals apparently did not want the minivan. They pulled it out, leaving it in the roadway, so they could take the Mazda.
