The commercial sex industry of our youth is happening in every community. Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purposes of a commercial sex act by force, fraud or coercion. Pimps & traffickers target vulnerable children & lure them into prostitution & other forms of sexual exploitation using psychological manipulation, drugs, &/or violence. Any child may be vulnerable to such a person who promises to meet his or her emotional & physical needs. These children will remain loyal to the exploiter even in the face of severe victimization. Gangs are moving towards selling children, whom they see as a renewable commodity, rather than selling drugs.
This seminar will show you how to identify high risk victims in your schools/community, investigate these crimes using a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach, traits of the pimps/traffickers, & interviewing techniques.
