2015: Less Lethal Impact Munitions Course

The 4 hour course is designed to train the street officer in the use of shotgun deployed impact munitions. The class is designed around the use of the Remington 870, but any other pump-action shotgun will suffice. The student will learn deployment considerations, operation and function of the shotgun, policy considerations and report writing considerations. There will be a short lecture component, then move on to dry fire drills, and finally end with live fire drills. For the class each student should bring a functional pump-action shotgun in good working order, duty belt with duty sidearm, at least 2 pistol magazines, 50 rounds of handgun ammo, 35-50 rds of target/birdshot ammo, 10 rounds of less-lethal impact munitions. (MPD folks need not worry about bringing shotguns or ammo.)
