Warner Beach House Community Mural Project on Kickstarter

July 11, 2014 4:45 PM

The project to fund a mural on the Warner Park Beach Shelter went live on Kickstarter yesterday! The mural will be designed and painted by Kennedy Heights summer camp youth with guidance from two talented artists and designers, Alexis London and Daniella Echeverria. The mural will consist of six panels that will represent northside images and icons. The Kickstarter goal to fund the supplies for this project is set at $850. To raise the stakes, the Madison Arts Commission has generously offered to match the total donations up to $1,000 if the goal is reached by the deadline of August 9th.

This project will bring a diverse group of youth together as they contribute to a lasting part of Madison history. As the children express themselves artistically they will also be developing their communication and teamwork skills. I am excited to see their creativity run wild!
